My theory on why wool keeps you warm

What are the first two things that come to mind when you think of wool? Itchy and warm, right?

Well, it's no coincidence that those two thoughts go together. The itch is what makes you warm! Or at least that's what my theory might suggest. When wool touches the skin it creates tiny (or massive, depending on who you are) itches all over. The itch and the irritation, along with the anger and psychological trauma that goes with itching, cause the body to warm.

So then you must decide, which is worse: itching or being cold?
