On the Apple Watch

I'm extremely creeped out by the Apple watch. I can't quite say why except that it just seems wrong that you could have it on you all the time or that it could have you all the time (No pun intended). It's just too much for me. I don't want to constantly have acces to everything on my wrist at all times (I did it again).

Anywho, that's my thought on it. But, who knows...maybe people were extremely creeped out by the iPhone when it first came out.

Love your body photo shoot

My yoga studio did a photo shoot to promote the idea that yoga is for every body.

Everybody and every body.

I like this idea since most of the media around yoga shows extremely skinny "fit" people doing advanced postures and when it's not that it's somehow deemed not as legit or not "yoga".  I'm just as guilty as everyone else, I suppose, in thinking this. I mean, I follow these people on instagram and am even inspired by them.  But I like to also keep an open mind about what is and isnt't yoga.

Yoga means union and yoga is everything. So certainly yoga is for everybody and every body need not look the same in a yoga posture.

Here are a few shots from our photo shoot:

How to make yourself (superficially) happy

I got a Burchbox subscription, which basically makes me happy once a month when I get a small, seasonally themed box full of beauty product samples left on my doorstep. You should try it!

Pretty Much.

It's a clever riff off the old adage "how you do anything is how you do everything" and it's the truth, ya'll.

Do you let your sweat simply roll off like it's no big deal? Or do you wipe, huff and puff, complain, and make it worse?

The cliche to rule them all

Watching Sex and the City on an elliptical machine. I mean, really Blaine?

I know, I know. I joined a gym so I can run and do stuff on machines during that awful time of the year here when I can't go outside for 2-3 months.

Pollen is coming...

Another Great Coast Hike

This Coast hike thing needs to become a regular activity because it's super fun, very beautiful, and feels damn good to get out of Eugene.  Yesterday, Jason and I headed to Florence which is about an hour west of Eugene. The day started out cold and foggy, but by the time we started hiking it was about 55 degrees and sunny.  Here are the pictures from our awesome hike. We hiked about six miles roundtrip, out and back starting from Washburn State Park (where we usually take the dogs) and ended up by the Heceta Head Lighthouse before we turned back. It was nice mix of beach, trail, rocks, landmark, and climbing. We even dipped our feet in the ocean, but it was freezing.

A page out of Bill Sullivan's book on great coastal hikes

Later, we saw the "No Climbing" sign
At the top of the trail almost to Heceta Head Lighthouse. I love this view up the coastline.

Posin' by my favorite view
Is it a selfie if there's two of us? Is it an usie?
Jason is a tree
Very beautiful, rolling part of the trail
And, of course, I had to stop for a little lifting lotus (Utthitta Padmasana) at my favorite spot
Camel Pose (Ustrasana)
Sometimes I see something and get inspired to make a cool yoga pose picture upon it.
This stump called out to me "Do camel on me", so I did.
