Delightful and Dumb!

This weekend I saw two movies:
and

I'll let you guess which was delightful and which was dumb.

I'll give you a hint: I really love singing and dancing puppets and am highly annoyed by bad acting.

Happy Bangsgiving!!

Ok, I promise that this is the last time that I will overtly reference my new awesome bangs. But let me just say, in the spirit of being thankful for things and all, that I am thankful for Rachel from db sutton who when I asked for Zooey Deschanel New Girl bangs knew exactly what I meant and executed fully and perfectly.

See??

You probably can't even tell who is who, right?

I am also thankful for this most delicious Thanksgiving spread that not only was served on plates that matched their place mats, but was perfectly executed (like my bangs!!!) and de- li- cious. Mama Barbee can cook, y'all.

I am also thankful my awesome husband who, 99% of the time, is a perfect non-gender role stereotype fulfilling catch...except today when he falls asleep after the meal with a random football game on in the distance. Today he is very much playing the part. Well done!

Happy Bang Day

A national holiday all across the USA!!
Observance of Bang Day Permits those who celebrate to drink beer before noon, take an obscene amount of pictures of yourself, and have awesome bangs, of course!

Wisdom from the Dick

I'm 85 pages in ( it's dense, ok?) and so far I've stumbled across some real nuggets of life wisdom. I will share them with you because that's what I'm going to do.

1) "You cannot hide the soul."(ch. 10)
2) " ...for there is no quality in this world that is not what it is merely by contrast. Nothing exists in itself." (ch. 11)

Books are good

Peculiarly predictable but quite entertaining and good for page turning.

Make it real?

This is our house in Hillsborough, NC. It has a For Sale sign in front of it.
Gulp.
We are selling our house.

Jason and I have decided to move to Oregon. It doesn't quite feel real, but now that we have started to tell people the reality is setting in. And now that the internet knows, it is real.

The house is on the market and now we wait.

And freak out.

3 Years?!!

That's right! Today is mine and Jason's 3 year anniversary! It's hard to believe that is has been 3 years. They have been 3 great years of marriage, which makes me wonder why people say that marriage is so much work? I'll get back to you on that one when it's been 30 years.

Happy Anniversary to us! 11-08!

Nashville: a bigger Raleigh

So, Nashville isn't quite as Nashville as I had hoped. I liken it to a bigger Raleigh, and I do hate Raleigh. It is quite spread out and seemingly chock full of inauthentic people (sorry, Nashville).

We did, however, have a great time drinking, hanging out and taking pictures of ourselves.

Wherever you go, there you are...

Except when you go to Nashville!

Nashville! A noun, a verb, an adjective. I am going to there tomorrow to Nashville a Nashville Nashvilley.

Clubbin'

It must be the year of doing organized intellectual things; club memberships abound!

Today, I received the November installment of my CD of the month club! A friend organized this club over the summer- just a bunch of people who get off on making mix CDs. Love it!

I'm also in a book club, hence my reading Moby Dick (yeah, there's no way I would just decide to read that without some motivation). Mostly, we just drink wine and inevitably as more bottles are popped the conversation turns from books to annoying things our significant others do. Good stuff.

It's fun to pretend to be an adult.
