My theory on why wool keeps you warm

What are the first two things that come to mind when you think of wool? Itchy and warm, right?

Well, it's no coincidence that those two thoughts go together. The itch is what makes you warm! Or at least that's what my theory might suggest. When wool touches the skin it creates tiny (or massive, depending on who you are) itches all over. The itch and the irritation, along with the anger and psychological trauma that goes with itching, cause the body to warm.

So then you must decide, which is worse: itching or being cold?

I'm (not) on a boat!

On a beautiful sunny day like today, what would be better than chillin' (literally, because it is pretty cold) on a boat like this.

I want to go to there.
A girl can hope, right?

Te he he

A note from a student handed to teacher a colleague during a test.
I'm assuming he wants to sharpen his pencil.

Dear Santa,

I had this great idea a few days ago to post my Christmas list on my blog for you to see (since I know you check it every day from your Mac at the North Pole.) But then, I thought to myself how un-Santosha it is to be posting Christmas lists on the internet or even thinking about Christmas gifts for myself at all really. Since Santosha should be the renunciation of stuff as means to ensuring happiness, what I really need to be doing is meditating on ways to achieve a higher level of contentment or ways that I already have contentment in my life outside of material goods.

But, Santosha is a journey and not a destination or a material possession itself. I am most definitely not there yet, but everyday working towards. So, Santa... maybe you could hurry down my chimney with just a few things this year...

Fresh Brown Sugar Body Polish
A Bodem Toaster...you know, for toast and stuff

Hunter Original Short Rain Boots (for those rainy Oregon days)

Moroccan Hair Oil
Minnetonka Fringed Mid Calf Boots...cuz they're awesome

Yours,

Me

PS- Forgive my imperfections...I'm not over my attachments to "stuff" quite yet

What every girl needs

Long black fancy coat...check!

It doesn't matter what you have on underneath, how many glasses of wine you had the night before, how messed up you're hair is, or how many days since you're last shower- you will look fabulous, feel like fashionista sashaying through the streets to your own techno beats, and be warm!

All rightness restored

Jason is making beer

And I am drinking it

I'm baaaaaack

After not blogging for almost a week. I am back. And, I shall now blog about not blogging.

Blogging is a strange thing in that most of the time you are writing about absolutely nothing of any importance- things that only moms and husbands and very best friends only slightly care about. Sometimes it is fun to feel that you are expressing yourself via writing about nothing and you can make fun of yourself for just that: saying nothing that nobody cares about not at all (triple negative...what!? what!?). But the other side of that coin is the feeling that if you have nothing to say, you should do that: literally say nothing, as in do not write because anything that comes out will be stupid.

So, that's what I did. I didn't write because everything that I wanted to write had stupid written all over it, and I cared. I wanted to write something meaningful and pertinent. Or at least something slightly witty. Nothing was coming and it drove me crazy, so I boycotted my own blog for a few days.
But now, I'm back to not caring. So, I will write stupid things and you will read them and I will not care and all order shall restored in the world.
