The day I learned contentment

The day I learned what contentment is I thought about it and it was gone.
The day I learned what contentment is I felt it glisten,
I thought
and it was gone.
A warmth in my heart slowly imbuing throughout my body...
This feels amazing!
How did it happen?
How do I make it stay?
Will I feel it again?
Hold.
On.
To.
It.

Thoughts.

And then it was gone.

Another Blaine?

Instantly, I am overwhelmed with hatred for this boor who bears my name. "It's my name!" I shout at the top of my lungs, in public. I stomp my feet, gnash my teeth; I am ready to battle this 7 year old phony!

And then, my heart opens to this young him or her. A little artist who paints stain glass window designs on cardboard. How proud I am of you, Blaine age 7. You may wear my name.

Perhaps he or she has a little piece of me at age 7. Maybe one day we will become great friends.

So nice

How stellar it is to sit and relax and read in a warm house with snow outside on the ground.

Snow and Christmas

It couldn't have been a better past few days. We ate, drank and Christmased with the best of them. Whoever "them" is in that saying.

We started out with the Roberts family on Christmas eve. There was an obscene amount of food consumed and mimosas all around. It was the biggest Christmas of all- 13 people!! And if the amount of food, folks and merriment are any indication of the amount of presents, you can be sure that Santa treated everyone quite well.

Christmas day began with our annual christmas morning yoga class with Ti. It is the absolute best part of Christmas in my opinion; yoga, warm people, good energy and a christmas meditation.

The rest of Christmas day was spent in my childhood home with mama Barbee and uncle David. The food was delicious and I now know why I was chubby child- like Julia Child, Dena Barbee is not afraid of butter and it makes for some damn good food. We ate, presented, talked and ate. And little Blaine was even channeled in some sugar cookie decorating, which were neighborly taken to the Burmese neighbors who are Buddhist but have an affinity for Christmas tree shaped cookies and sprinkles.

Later we Black Swaned- and WOAH...I'll have to talk about that later.

Then came the snow...

Snow baby

Snow man ( I can't take credit for this one. It was sent from Jess)

Snow snuggle

It's been a great holiday weekend. It's only too bad that there isn't any school to be canceled on account of all this snow.

Muppets!

I've always really loved muppets. They are wonderful creatures with shining personalities. It is my 2011 goal to watch all muppet movies.

2011 is going to be a great year.

Reassure me!

Hey, it's completely ok to cultivate a look entirely comprised of sweats during my vacation, right?
